Q2 seeks an experienced engineer to own end-to-end observability systems, building and operating the AI-powered platform that detects issues across the organization. You will translate business needs into scalable tooling, collaborate across teams, and drive secure, automated pipelines.
You’ll work hybrid in the US, tackle complex problems, and influence reliability practices with senior leadership. Strong coding in C# or Go and cloud-DevOps experience are essential.

Most engineering roles hand you a slice. A product owner sets the “what,” a manager sets the “how,” and you build your piece inside someone else’s sprint. This is not that role. We don’t build the product our customers log into — we build the factory that builds it, and the systems that detect the moment anything starts to break. When our tooling works, the entire organization finds and fixes customer problems faster. When it doesn’t, everyone feels it. That is the leverage of this role, and it is why the work sits at the center of how we run reliability. You’ll be handed real business problems — often ambiguous, sometimes dropped on us overnight — and trusted to solve them end to end: shadow the people living the problem, prototype, write the architecture, socialize it with senior and executive leaders, then build it and operationalize it so the team can run it. You’ll work full‑stack, fly independently, and own what you ship. You’ll build things that matter and get used across the entire company. If optimizing a single bolt to a tenth of a millimeter for the next four months sounds like a good year, this isn’t your role. If you’d rather build the thing that gets to Mars, keep reading.

Q2’s mission is to build strong and diverse communities by strengthening their financial institutions. That mission shapes the technology we build, how we serve our customers, and how we show up for each other.
We started with a straightforward belief: technology could fundamentally change how financial institutions serve their communities. More than 20 years later, that belief still drives us. Q2 delivers digital banking and lending solutions that help financial institutions deepen relationships, improve experiences, and grow.
Q2’s culture is built by Q2ers and grounded in ten guiding principles that define how we show up for each other, our customers, and our communities. We take our mission seriously. We also have fun doing it. Teams across the company work together to solve hard problems, move quickly, and make a real impact on the financial institutions and communities we serve. We’re also helping shape how AI is applied in financial services, bringing the same disciplined, banking-first approach Q2 has practiced for more than 20 years to this next chapter of innovation.
