Job summary

Quantum is seeking a Senior System Software Engineer to design and optimize the object storage data path and core distributed services of our scale-out platform. Centennial, CO is the primary location, with a hybrid work model.

You will own software from the moment an object request hits the network interface through processing, metadata, placement, and durable persistence across the cluster, focusing on low latency, high concurrency, and correctness at scale.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software development in C/C++ or Rust.
• Strong distributed systems and high-performance storage design.
• Extensive Linux debugging, profiling, and performance analysis.
• Concurrency, locking and asynchronous programming expertise.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.
• Willing to work from Centennial, CO during core hours.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize the object storage data path and core distributed services.
• Own software from object requests hitting the network interface through processing, metadata operations, data placement, and durable persistence across the cluster.
• Focus on low-latency code paths, high concurrency, and distributed systems correctness at scale.
