Mountain Area Health Education Center in Asheville, NC seeks a Sonography Specialist II to perform diverse ultrasound procedures in a women’s health academic setting, including high-risk obstetric imaging and invasive procedures as needed.

You will prepare exam rooms, review histories, provide preliminary findings, assist with procedures like amniocentesis, and mentor residents and fellows; strong emphasis on patient safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program.
• Passed OBGYN registry.
• Three years of clinical ultrasound experience in women’s health.
• ARDMS or ARRT/RDMS registration and active status required.
• Spanish language skills preferred.

Responsabilités

• Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment following safety protocols.
• Review patient history and supporting clinical information from various sources.
• Perform ultrasound procedures with independent judgment and accuracy.
• Assess image quality and identify limiting factors.
• Label, document, and complete preliminary ultrasound reports.
