The role blends writing, strategy, and cross-team coordination in a hybrid work setting. You will develop talking points, support executive communications, and advise leadership on sensitive engagement opportunities while ensuring compliance with federal processes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional and/or academic experience.
• Proven ability to translate complex scientific content into compelling written products for diverse audiences.
• Experience developing executive communications including talking points and briefing materials.
• Familiarity with NOAA, OAR, or federal agency communications processes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as analyst and coordinator for communication actions with OAR leadership and SMEs.
• Provide written and oral communications for OAR products, ensuring clear language for diverse audiences.
• Translate complex scientific information into communication products for leaders and workforce.
• Support planning for periodic meetings and events, including all-hands and site visits.
• Develop talking points and materials used by leadership for internal and external communications.
• Provide training to nationwide OAR communications staff on various topics.
