Vast is seeking a Staff NX Designer to lead the CAD and drafting standards for Fluid Systems, owning the most complex geometry and large assemblies for artificial-gravity space stations. You will mentor designers and coordinate with Propulsion, Thermal, and Life Support teams in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Reporting to the Vice President, Fluid Systems, this full-time, exempt role is based in Long Beach, CA, with responsibilities spanning concept through release and manufacture of

Competenze

• 8+ years CAD/Design experience.
• Experience working in aerospace design.
• Expert-level experience with large CAD assemblies and drawings.
• Proven configuration management on technically complex hardware.
• Knowledge of mechanical design and manufacturing.
• Experience with ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, Y14.41.
• Experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter.

Mansioni

• Own design and drawings for thermal and life support hardware from conceptual phase through release and manufacture.
• Own BOM, mass tracking, and hardware release for subsystems.
• Define interfaces between vehicle subsystems and lead CAD trades.
• Execute complex geometrical modeling for additively manufactured hardware.
• Drive design release for ECLSS subassemblies, tubing runs, MLI, and soft goods.
• Serve as SME for CAD standards using NX and Teamcenter; establish templates and CM discipline.
• Mentor designers and engineers; train team to self-serve on routine CAD tasks.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, technicians, and suppliers to ensure producible designs.
