Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Nutanix Migration Engineer to join our professional services or operations team. The successful candidate will lead and execute complex data center migrations to the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud platform, ensuring seamless transitions, minimal downtime, and optimal performance. Deep expertise in Nutanix technologies, strong project management skills, and a proven track record in data center transformations are essential.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and execute migration projects from legacy infrastructures (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, physical servers) to Nutanix AHV and ESXi environments.
2. Assess existing environments, identify dependencies and risks, and develop migration strategies and runbooks.
3. Design and implement Nutanix solutions including cluster sizing, network, storage, and disaster recovery.
4. Utilize Nutanix migration tools (e.g., Nutanix Move, Xtract, Karbon, Nutanix Frame) for seamless migrations.
5. Perform health checks, monitor migration progress, and validate post-migration data integrity and application functionality.
6. Collaborate with clients and teams to meet project goals and timelines.
7. Troubleshoot and optimize performance during all migration phases.
8. Maintain comprehensive documentation and act as a Nutanix SME, mentoring junior engineers.
9. Stay updated on Nutanix product releases and best practices.
10. Participate in client meetings and pre-sales activities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

1. 5+ years in IT infrastructure with virtualization and hyperconverged systems.
2. 3+ years leading Nutanix data migrations.
3. Expertise in Nutanix AOS, AHV, Prism Central, and related services.
4. Experience with migration tools like Nutanix Move.
5. Strong networking knowledge (VLANs, routing, firewalls).
6. Experience with Windows and Linux OS.
7. Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
8. Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) preferred; NCM a plus.
9. Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

Desired Skills

1. Experience with VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
2. Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Ansible).
3. Database migration experience (SQL Server, Oracle).
4. Knowledge of Kubernetes and containerization on Nutanix.
