The Senior Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as an experienced caregiver to residents during scheduled work periods in long-term care, demonstrating expert-level experience as a certified nursing assistant and assisting other staff as needed.
Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Knowledge of age-appropriate care related to physical and psychological needs as per care plan. Follows infection prevention, control policies, and PPE use. Supports clinical staff and leads in problem-solving and accountability.
Assists with basic health care needs including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, vital signs, psychosocial support, and personal care. Assists with transfers, repositioning, walking, and exercises. Supports dining activities, assists with meals and snacks, and provides water and supplements.
Supports procedures, documents interactions, reports changes, and collects specimens. Provides housekeeping, laundry, wellness, and recreational support. May participate in committees and restorative nursing programs.
