Job summary

UTMB Health seeks a Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care within a correctional setting, joining an interdisciplinary team focused on patient-centered care at Lane Murray Facility. The role emphasizes independent assessment, care planning, and response to emergencies in a secure environment.

The incumbent must have two years of RN experience, hold a Texas license, and possess BLS-HP. This open-pooled position is limited to 19 hours per week and located in Texas facilities.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with two years of clinical RN experience.
• Must possess and maintain a current license or valid permit to practice in Texas.
• Current BLS-HP required.

Responsibilities

• Competently and independently assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents the daily care of assigned patients.
• Competently identifies patients care needs, formulates diagnoses, develops and revises care plans as needed.
• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders in accordance with UTMB/TDCJ/TJJD policies.
• Performs routine and complex technical procedures in the assigned specialty area.
