Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients within a corrections setting. The RN will function as a member of an interdisciplinary team, manage emergencies, and serve as a resource for other nursing staff.

Qualified candidates must be an RN with at least two years of clinical experience, hold a Texas license, and maintain BLS-HP certification.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with two (2) years of clinical RN experience.
• Must possess and maintain a current license or valid permit to practice in Texas.
• Current BLS-HP required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document the daily care of assigned patients.
• Identify patient care needs, formulate nursing diagnoses, develop and revise care plans as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments following physician orders and UTMB/TDCJ/TJJD policies.
