Job summary

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC is seeking a Nuclear Scientist/Engineer to support our government customer at Kirtland AFB, NM. The role requires a broad background in Nuclear Engineering or related science, including weapon design, modeling, and energy production.

You will work with diverse agencies to deliver rapid, actionable assessments and participate in high-level discussions on stockpile systems. Qualified candidates hold a Masters and/or PhD in relevant fields, 5+ years in nuclear-related

Qualifications

• Five plus (5+) years of experience in nuclear weapons design, nuclear power, or radiological/nuclear systems.
• Strong understanding of fundamentals of nuclear concepts used in modern weapons and related processes.
• Proven ability to perform research and development with advanced analytical techniques.
• Experience presenting data and findings to senior government leaders.
• Ability to co-author technical reports for broad communities.

Responsibilities

• Contribute as the primary nuclear weapon physics technical specialist on projects.
• Collaborate with DTRA-RD, DTRA-NE, external agencies, and IC entities for quick assessments.
• Serve as first author on classified technical reports.
• Provide graduate level nuclear weapon design fundamentals when requested.
• Mentor junior staff and maintain institutional knowledge accessibility.
• Establish professional relationships with domestic and international partners.
• Provide expert analysis on a range of topics including nuclear effects and propulsion.
• Other duties as assigned.
