Job summary

Battelle is seeking a Senior Nuclear Power Regulatory Policy engineer to develop program policy, procedures, and internal controls for microreactor technology deployment. The role focuses on regulatory certification, safety, and environmental controls across DoD and Army contexts.

The successful candidate will integrate input from DoW, DOE, NRC and other agencies, and help shape regulatory guidance and implementation strategies for microreactor deployments at Army installations and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's with 8+ years of experience, or Master's with 5+ years, or PhD with 2+ years, or equivalent.
  • Experience in nuclear power operations and policy development is required.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, analytical and technical skills to work with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary author and integrator of NEO regulatory documentation.
  • Provide nuclear power system operations, engineering, and integrated logistic support SME input.
  • Analyze complex data and identify innovative regulatory solutions.
  • Prepare and present advanced technical reports and presentations to clients.
  • Coordinate inter-/intra-agency collaboration and lead technical working groups.
  • Develop into a program expert and representative for the NEO program.
  • Support business development efforts and maintain external client relations.
  • Participate in scientific conferences, peer reviews, and contribute to publications.
  • Train and supervise lower-level staff to guide project goals.
