Senior Nuclear Medicine Fusion Technologist (Sign on bonus eligible) in San francisco, ca
We are seeking a Senior Nuclear Medicine Fusion Technologist for our San Francisco facility offering a sign-on bonus. This esteemed position integrates advanced fusion imaging techniques with innovative patient care, contributing significantly to the ongoing excellence in nuclear medicine services.
The technologist is licensed in all scopes of practice as defined by the State of California Radiologic Health branch, and performs routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures using radiopharmaceuticals to assist in diagnosis and/or treatment in both the inpatient and outpatient environment.
The technologist must be able to work safely in an acute care setting and be able to interact accordingly with anesthesia and/or other patient care departments that visit the Nuclear Medicine environment.
Collects, prepares and analyzes biologic specimens and prepares data for interpretation. Responsible for performing radiation safety and quality control procedures on all Nuclear Medicine equipment as required by the department. Participates in orientation and training of assigned staff, students, residents, and faculty. Participates in performance improvement activities in the department.
The Technologist's advanced responsibilities can include, yet are not limited to the following:
Demonstrate competency and participate in the lead/coordinator role.
Demonstrate competency and the ability to instruct two or more of the specialty procedures.
Active participation in clinical protocol development, improvement and implementation.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Oversee advanced nuclear medicine fusion imaging procedures to ensure diagnostic precision and optimal patient care.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced clinical setting to maintain high standards in image acquisition and interpretation.
Manage the operation and calibration of state-of-the-art imaging equipment while adhering to stringent safety protocols.
Mentor and guide junior technologists to support their professional development and enhance departmental expertise.
Implement and monitor quality assurance practices to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
Evaluate and integrate emerging imaging technologies to continuously improve diagnostic methodologies.
Contribute to comprehensive operational and clinical research initiatives to promote innovation within the department.
Possession of a valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification and state licensure is required.
Extensive experience with fusion imaging modalities, including PET/CT and SPECT/CT, is preferred.
Proven expertise in applying radiation safety protocols and adhering to regulatory guidelines.
A strong background in clinical operations within high-volume, multidisciplinary healthcare environments is essential.
Demonstrated proficiency in advanced imaging techniques and quality assurance measures is expected.
A commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to best practices in nuclear medicine is mandatory.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are critical for success in this role.
