Job summary

System One is seeking a Nuclear Engineer V – Mechanical for a long-term, onsite contract supporting major nuclear plant projects in Ohio. The role targets senior mechanical engineers with deep PWR/BWR knowledge, strong design modification experience, and a track record of improving safety, reliability, and performance.

The ideal candidate will hold a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited) with 15+ years in engineering and 8+ years in commercial nuclear power, plus hands-on capability

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 15+ years of engineering experience.
• 8+ years of direct commercial nuclear power plant experience.
• Strong background in PWR and/or BWR design and plant operations.
• Experience with engineering calculations, feasibility studies, and reliability evaluations.
• Proficiency with Mathcad, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced mechanical engineering expertise to design, operation, and modification of PWR/BWR systems.
• Perform calculations, feasibility studies, and evaluations to resolve reliability concerns.
• Develop, review, and implement system modifications/upgrades for safety and efficiency.
• Prepare technical presentations and defend findings during client reviews.
• Conduct plant walkdowns and field inspections in industrial environments.
• Interface with project teams, stakeholders, and vendors; ensure NRC/regulatory compliance.
