Job summary

Portland General Electric is seeking a senior professional to manage ISFSI licensing programs and regulatory interfacing for Trojan In‑Service Safety Function (ISFSI). The role supports licensing basis, compliance, and agency interactions, requiring robust nuclear licensing experience and strong technical writing skills.

Ideal candidates will bring 10+ years in power plants with nuclear exposure, direct ISFSI licensing experience (10CFR Part 72), and familiarity with NRC/NEI guidance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physical science, or related field.
  • 10+ years of power plant experience with at least three years in nuclear power plants.
  • 3+ years of nuclear licensing experience at a nuclear facility, including NRC submittals/RAIs.
  • Direct ISFSI licensing experience (10CFRPart72) and interface with state agencies (OHA, OEM, DEQ).
  • Experience with QA under10CFR72 SubpartG and ANSI/ASME NQA‑1 programs.
  • Knowledge of NEI guidance and NRC regulatory guidance relevant to ISFSIs.
  • Technical writing certifications, licenses, or training.
  • PMI PMP certification – a plus; PE certification – a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Administers departmental programs, develops procedures, ensures compliance with laws, and supports planning, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Develops, maintains, and processes licensing documents, negotiates with authorities, and leads screenings/evaluations.
  • Collects, analyzes data, prepares regulator reports, identifies trends, and delivers regulatory training.
  • Plans, schedules, leads, and documents training drills; maintains ISFSI licensing basis; tracks NRC submittals and screenings.
