Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Nuclear Hardness & Survivability Engineer to lead NH&S analyses for satellite electronics and missile systems. You will review radiation test plans, perform survivability assessments, and support radiation environment estimates using a wide range of tools.

Qualifications

• Masters degree or higher in physics, nuclear engineering, electrical engineering or related field
• 10+ years of post-grad experience in NH&S
• Experience in electron/proton/x-ray transport analysis
• Track record reviewing NH&S analyses and NH&S requirements compliance
• Proven proficiency evaluating SGEMP as a design consideration of flight hardware
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 25%
• Ability to obtain/maintain US security clearance

Responsibilities

• Lead NH&S analyses for satellite electronics, subsystems, payloads, and missile systems
• Review test plans/reports for radiation testing of components
• Prepare survivability analyses for space environments
• Evaluate plans for Flash X-ray testing and radiation environment estimations
• Participate in program reviews reviewing radiation requirements and compliance
• Engage with industry/government to review survivability plans and best practices
