Job summary

Aalo Atomics is seeking a senior on‑shift manager to oversee Aalo‑X operations in Idaho Falls. The role directs the control room and field crew during startups, testing, power operation, shutdowns, and emergencies to protect the reactor, personnel, and public.

You will lead a professional team, ensure adherence to operating limits, and apply conservative decision‑making under uncertain conditions, while driving safety and performance standards across shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• NRC Senior Reactor Operator license or DOE SRO certification.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or command experience directing licensed operators.
• Experience with reactor startup/shutdown, reactivity control, abnormal and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Exercise command and control of all on‑shift operations and coordinate work affecting plant status.
• Maintain a high level of Nuclear Safety Culture on your shift.
• Direct startups, reactivity management, and emergency response activities.
• Lead shift turnover, briefings, and risk assessments for operations and maintenance.
• Ensure training, qualification, and fitness-for-duty of assigned personnel.
• Stop work or shutdown when prerequisites or risk controls are inadequate.
