Job summary

Johnson & Johnson MedTech is seeking an experienced NPI & LCM Principal Engineer to lead strategic technical directions for new product development, design transfer, commercialization, and lifecycle management in Irvine, CA. You will coordinate cross-functional engineering teams to deliver safe, compliant, manufacturable, and cost-effective solutions.

The role requires 6–8+ years of engineering experience, strong CAD and statistical skills, and the ability to travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, biomedical engineering, or related field is required or equivalent.
• Master’s degree is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost-reduction initiatives for products, materials, and manufacturing techniques using engineering and financial analysis.
• Independently resolve complex engineering challenges and represent the organization in technical discussions.
• Apply advanced engineering methods and cross-disciplinary knowledge to address business and technical needs.
• Consult management on unusual technical problems, risks, and developments.
• Plan, develop, coordinate, and direct engineering projects of varying size and complexity.
• Execute complex assignments that develop new or improved techniques, procedures, equipment, materials, processes, or products.
• Supervise and review technical work, estimate resource needs, assign responsibilities, and manage schedules.
• Ensure equipment, processes, design reviews, and pre-validation activities comply with safety, quality, health, and environmental standards.
