Volunteer Ministry Center in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Senior Finance Director to oversee financial management, planning, and oversight across the organization and affiliated entities. The role emphasizes grant management, compliance with GAAP, and strengthening financial stability.

The ideal candidate has strong strategic thinking, leadership, and the ability to drive growth and efficiency within a nonprofit setting; collaboration with senior leadership and committees is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• Minimum 10-15 years of progressive fiscal management experience, preferably in a non-profit organization.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, grant management, and non-profit accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee financial strategies, plans, and annual budgets to support the organization’s goals and objectives.
• Prepare and present monthly financial reports to the CEO, Board of Directors, and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate with financial consultants and investment partners to ensure funds flow per agreements.
• Lead the financial management of grants, including proposals, budgeting, tracking, and compliance.
• Oversee internal controls and annual audit process; ensure IRS Form 990 preparation.
