Job summary

Green Key Resources is partnering with a nonprofit organization in Washington, DC to hire a Senior Accountant for a contract role up to 90 days with potential extension or permanent placement. Hybrid - onsite about 2 days per week.

You will contribute across accounts payable, payroll, cash management, general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting in a fast-paced environment. Prior nonprofit accounting and Sage Intacct experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Month-End Close.
• Payroll, cash management, reconciliations, and financial reporting experience.
• Nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting audits and Form 990 is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, weekly payments, and maintain vendor records.
• Reconcile corporate credit cards and assist with related systems and staff inquiries.
• Coordinate biweekly payroll and prepare related journal entries.
• Reconcile cash, investment, and receivable accounts.
• Process banking activity, transfers, and other treasury functions.
• Prepare journal entries and reconcile assigned GL accounts, including intercompany, prepaid, and fixed asset accounts.
• Support month-end close and preparation of accurate financial statements.
• Assist with year-end close, external audits, Form 990 preparation, and supporting documentation.
• Support grant reporting and budgeting activities.
• Assist with special projects, cross-training, and other Finance initiatives
