Job summary

Synechron, a global digital consulting firm, is seeking a skilled Node.js Developer to join our development team in Sterling, VA. The role focuses on building high-performance server-side applications, RESTful APIs, and microservices.

You'll work with Express.js, React, and cloud technologies like AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes, collaborate across disciplines, and help drive secure, scalable solutions for financial services clients.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in Node.js development.
• Extensive experience with Express.js or similar frameworks.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API principles, GraphQL (preferred).
• Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency with databases such as MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of authentication/authorization protocols (JWT, OAuth).
• Hands-on experience with cloud deployment and serverless technologies.
• Familiarity with version control tools like Git.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Node.js and Express.js.
• Middleware/backend development using Node.js and related tech.
• Experience with React and API, JS, and AWS architecture solutioning.
• Write clean, well-documented code adhering to best practices.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and stakeholders.
• Optimize performance, scalability, and security of applications.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and data validation mechanisms.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior team members.
• Integrate third-party APIs and external services.
• Deploy and monitor applications using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
• Document API designs and technical specifications.
• Stay updated with industry trends and innovative solutions.
