Job summary

CAC I International Inc. is seeking an experienced Network Management Systems (NMS) Engineer to oversee production NMS tools in a Linux-based environment in Las Cruces, NM.

You will monitor, maintain, and optimize the NMS stack, including Riverbed, SolarWinds, and Network Node Manager, with automation and DevOps collaboration to improve reliability and efficiency. You will work on system performance analysis, upgrades, migrations, and security configuration, while mentoring junior team members

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of related work experience.
• TS/SCI with Poly required.
• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (Red Hat/CentOS/Ubuntu).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and on‑prem virtualization platforms (VMware/libvirt/KVM).
• Proficiency in shell scripting and at least one programming language (Python/Bash).
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible/Puppet/Chef).
• Expertise in network management tools (Riverbed/SolarWinds/Network Node Manager).
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems in an air-gapped environment.
• Monitor and optimize Linux servers for NMS applications.
• Develop automation scripts to improve system management.
• Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to drive automation.
• Manage system updates, patches, and security configurations.
• Provide incident support and guidance for automation-related issues.
• Mentor junior team members and support cross-functional teams.
• Ensure high availability and scalability of Linux environments for NMS.
