Job summary

EMD Electronics in the United States is seeking a Senior Scientist in Analytical Development with expertise in NMR spectroscopy to lead method development for organometallic analyses and support method transfer to quality control.

You will maintain the 500 MHz NMR and its components, analyze samples and data to support R&D timelines, and generate SOPs and reports while ensuring ISO9001 notebook compliance. You will also support cross-site harmonization and act as NMR SME in customer meetings.

Qualifications

• Masters' Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science or other life science discipline and 3+ years' experience with hands‑on experience with NMR.
• OR Ph.D. in Chemistry or Materials Science or life science discipline.
• AND 1+ years' experience in routine maintenance of NMR equipment.

Responsibilities

• Method development for the analysis of organometallic compounds and their impurities by NMR and support method transfer to quality control.
• Maintain the R&D dedicated 500 Mhz NMR and its subsidiary components.
• Analysis of samples and associated data to support R&D timelines.
• Act as a technical expert supporting EMD R&D staff with advanced NMR analyses.
• Act as the subject matter expert on NMR for EMD customer facing meetings when requested.
• Generate SOPs and technical documents/reports as necessary.
• Maintain an R&D notebook in accordance with ISO9001 standards.
• Support site NMR improvement initiatives and cross site harmonization.
• Be a technical resource for supporting quality control units associated with EMD product lines.
• Perform other (non-NMR) analytical method development and testing as required by the business.
