Job summary

Vertex Control Systems, LLC is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer in Covington, LA. You will lead Tridium Niagara N4 programming, architect supervisors, and integrate BACnet, Modbus, and proprietary protocols.

The role combines 70% hands-on engineering from Covington or home office with 30% on-site start-up and training. You will mentor junior engineers, create HTML5 dashboards, and document networks and sequences to standard handoff.

Qualifications

• 5+ years programming Tridium Niagara (AX/N4) in commissioning or integration
• Strong understanding of HVAC equipment and ASHRAE Guideline 36 sequences
• Deep BACnet experience including discovery, addressing, routing, troubleshooting on real jobs
• Niagara N4 Certification (TCP) or equivalent expertise
• Comfortable on Linux/Windows servers, basic networking, SSL certs
• Excellent written and verbal communication for specs and emails

Responsibilities

• Architect and configure Tridium Niagara N4 supervisors, JACE controllers, and field controllers
• Write, simulate, and tune sequences for AHUs, VAVs, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and pumps
• Integrate BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus RTU/TCP, and proprietary protocols
• Build clean, fast HTML5 graphics, dashboards, and alarm routing
• Lead startup and commissioning visits; coordinate with field techs
• Document networks, sequences, points, and as-builts to a standard
• Mentor junior engineers and review submittals and shop drawings
