Job summary

Magellan Health seeks a Lead New Parent Support Professional (RNwBSN; LCSW; or LMFT) to support families with expectant parents and children aged birth to 3 at Fort Riley, KS. The role focuses on mission readiness and healthy relationships through parenting programs, respite care, and supervised play.

Licensed clinicians will deliver information, referrals, and family services within a strengths-based, family-centered framework.

Qualifications

Licensed Clinical Social Workers must possess a current, valid, unrestricted clinical license and a master’s degree in Social Work to practice independently.
Registered Nurses must have at least a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a current unrestricted license in one of the States or U.S. territories, and at least five (5) years of direct work experience with child abuse or domestic abuse, maternal or child health, public health, or mental health.
Must have home visitation experience.

Responsibilities

Provide effective, timely, and confidential services to families assessed as at risk for child maltreatment and/or family violence.
Protect the privacy and confidentiality of client information.
Identify and report suspected child abuse, neglect, and domestic abuse.
Assess developmental milestones and referral procedures for indicators of special needs or developmental delays.
Assess and strengthen adaptation to parenthood.
Promote developmentally appropriate parenting skills, disciplinary techniques, and parent-child communication skills.
Develop relationships with local community and military installation officials and organizations to maximize effectiveness.
Utilize community-based services and networks to provide concrete support for families in crisis.
