Epia Neuro is seeking a neural data scientist to turn large neural and behavioral datasets into actionable insights. You will design analyses, validate recording performance, and develop decoding methods in a hands-on role within our Research team based in Alameda, CA.

Qualifications

• PhD in neuroscience or related field, or Master's with 4+ years in a research-focused role.
• Hands-on experience analyzing neural time-series data (ECoG, sEEG, LFP, EEG).
• Strong neural signal processing foundation: filtering, spectral analysis, artifact handling, feature extraction.
• Solid applied machine learning background with noisy biological data.
• Ability to independently frame scientific questions and carry analyses to conclusions.
• Experience aligning neural recordings with behavioral data.
• Strong Python and scientific computing skills with reusable, maintainable code.
• Clear written and verbal communication across scientific and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end analysis of research studies, from strategy to figures and publications.
• Characterize and validate in vivo recording performance and establish preprocessing|quality control.
• Develop and evaluate decoding models relating neural activity to behavior.
• Explore neural and behavioral data, including pose estimation, to identify new questions.
• Build reproducible analysis pipelines and data standards across studies.
• Collaborate with study scientists and software team to hand off research-grade methods and code.
