Job summary

Enigma is building the experimental and computational infrastructure to understand intelligence through neuroscience. The xDev team designs systems that connect hardware and software with data processing and analysis, enabling researchers and AI models to access reliable datasets.

The Data Engineer (Software Developer 2) will own end-to-end data pipelines, implement schema design, and drive observability and performance across the data stack in a collaborative research setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 5+ years of experience in data engineering or software development.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL with experience in ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience designing durable data models and schemas for complex datasets.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate ETL/ELT and high-throughput ingestion pipelines.
• Own the data layer end-to-end: schema design, indexing, migrations, and durable data models.
• Improve reliability, scalability, observability, and performance across the data stack.
