Job summary

BU Consultants is seeking a Senior Network Test Engineer in New York, NY, to lead complex testing and certification of network hardware and software. You will design testing strategies for routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, and develop automation with Python and Ansible to improve coverage and efficiency.

The role requires 8+ years of experience in Network Engineering, strong LAN/WAN and data center knowledge, and multi-vendor collaboration, with on-site work 3–4 days per week.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Network Engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, Data Center and Campus/Branch networks.
• Proficient in BGP/OSPF, IGMP, PIM and Layer 2 protocols.
• Hands-on testing and certification of network hardware.
• Experience with Python and Ansible automation.

Responsibilities

• Test and certify network hardware, software releases, patches, and code upgrades.
• Perform functional, performance, interoperability, and reliability testing in lab environments.
• Develop test automation using Python, Ansible, APIs, and Robot Framework.
• Lead testing strategies for routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Present results and risks to senior management.
