Job summary

Trabus Technologies seeks a Senior Network Test Engineer to support NIWC PAC's Transport and Computing Infrastructure Program Office and the MQ-25 Stingray network. The role focuses on designing and executing network tests for ANTS-based aircraft and shore operations.

Responsibilities include test planning, evaluation reporting, vulnerability analysis, and providing insights to improve future capabilities. A Bachelor’s in a related field is required along with 5+ years of network engineering

Qualifications

  • Five years of experience in network engineering.
  • Five years of experience with OSPF, PIM, IGMP, VRRP, and IPSec (HAIPE).
  • Understanding of network security, RHEL IPTables, and encryption devices KG-175D/175F/175N.
  • Active Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent.
  • Active Security+ or CCNA Security (or higher, e.g., CISSP).
  • One year experience writing test plans, procedures, and reports.
  • One year using Spirent TestCenter/Avalanche and Wireshark with nTAP devices.

Responsibilities

  • Test and assess ANTS through development and maturation phases with evaluation plans and reports.
  • Design test plans for events where MEA requires validation.
  • Analyze and assess vulnerabilities in COTS/NDI/GFE systems and propose mitigations.
  • Create assessments, conduct studies, and perform analyses to enhance capabilities.

The Senior Network Test Engineer will perform Test and Evaluation including developmental testing and user acceptance. He will design and execute test plans for specific events when the measure of effectiveness of a given technology is either unknown or requires validation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Test and assess ANTS through the development and maturing phases. Test should include:
    • Establishing and completion of testing;
    • Creation of evaluation and assessment plans, procedures and reports in designated exercises or venues;
    • Analysis of results and preparation of testing, analyses, and assessment reports;
    • Provide lessons learned and operational insights for future test and evaluation requirements.
  • Test and Evaluation including developmental testing and user acceptance includes designing test plans for specific events when the measure of effectiveness of a given technology is either unknown or requires validation. The test plan shall be approved by the program manager or designated representative prior to any test activity taking place.
  • Analyze and assess the vulnerabilities in the functionality of systems, subsystems and components that are COTS, NDI, or GFE.
  • Identify design compensation and other potential solutions for such vulnerabilities and safeguard against them.
  • Create assessments, conduct studies, and perform analyses to enhance knowledge of existing and future capabilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in network engineering
  • Five (5) years of experience with configuration of OSPF, PIM, IGMP, VRRP, and IPSec (as implemented with HAIPE devices);
  • Understanding of network security best practices, RHEL IPTables, and an understanding of the use and configuration of encryption devices (KG-175D, KG-175F, KG-175N);
  • Active Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent
  • Active Security+ or CCNA Security, or higher certification (e.g. CISSP)
  • 1 year experience in writing test plans, test procedures, test reports
  • 1 year in using network test tools such as Spirent TestCenter/Avalanche, Wireshark capture with nTAP devices.
DESIRED:
  • Top Secret clearance with SCI Eligibility
  • Recent experience with Unmanned Vehicles, network communications, and carrier aviation network testing.
  • Be customer-focused, team-oriented, and motivated, taking ownership of assigned tasks
  • Have proven ability to self-manage, as well as manage interdisciplinary relationships
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail, procedural compliance, and the ability to manage multiple duties simultaneously while meeting deadlines
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degreein Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Information/Management or a related field.
