Job summary

The Network Systems Research Engineer Ill-IV or Senior Network Systems Engineer I will conduct and support basic and applied research on networks and networked applications in Bryan, TX. The role designs, implements, and tests innovative solutions for next generation networks while supporting research initiatives and serving as a subject matter expert on projects.

The position emphasizes network design, configuration, testing, security, and collaboration with researchers, staff, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field.
• Six/eight years of network/wireless experience depending on level.
• Ability to obtain a US passport and travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Research proposals evaluation and analysis of technical approaches.
• Design, document, and plan research networks and standards.
• Configure, install, and test research networks and security measures.
• Provide Tier I–III support and assist with research operations.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly project updates and deliverables.
• Lead, train, and mentor graduate assistants and student technicians.
• Perform leadership development and professional training.
