Senior Network Systems Reliability Engineer (Req ID: 10151300)
The Senior Network Systems Reliability Engineer will support the Global Network Engineering & Operations (GNEO) team, focusing on automation, observability, and AI platform transformation. The role delivers network products, maintains operational excellence, and ensures reliable infrastructure across Disney's global network.
Responsibilities
- Manage support for network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, network circuits), coordinating repairs and replacements.
- Handle licensing and renewals for network infrastructure software/services: maintain renewal calendar, track entitlements and support contracts, coordinate quotes/POs, and ensure timely renewals to avoid service interruption.
- Maintain accurate IT asset inventory for hardware and software, recording location, configuration, warranty status, lifecycle stage, and disposal records.
- Serve as an asset data analyst: reconcile inventory and license data across tools, perform periodic audits, and produce dashboards/metrics on compliance, refresh cycles, warranty exposure, and utilization to inform budgeting and lifecycle decisions.
- Lead vendor management activities for hardware/software: track support cases, RMAs, manage SLAs & support coverage, support contract terms, true‑ups, and renewal negotiations.
- Assist with network security and compliance (firmware/patch compliance, configuration standardization, vulnerability remediation, log/monitoring coverage) in partnership with IT/security.
- Reduce technical debt by driving standard configurations, eliminating unsupported/end‑of‑life infrastructure, coordinating upgrades/refreshes, and improving runbooks/documentation.
- Minimize risk by following change management practices, assessing impact/rollback plans, validating monitoring/alerting coverage, and partnering on remediation and resiliency improvements.
- Coordinate with procurement/finance on purchasing and renewals: gather requirements, obtain and compare vendor quotes, recommend options, submit/track POs, and maintain renewal and spend visibility.
- Track, prioritize, and resolve tickets within SLA; communicate status updates and maintain high customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 5+ years of experience supporting network infrastructure and/or IT operations (e.g., NOC, network support, infrastructure support) including hardware/software lifecycle activities.
- Familiarity with Python and SQL for data processing and dashboarding.
- Working knowledge of switching/routing fundamentals, Wi‑Fi, VPN, DNS/DHCP, and ability to troubleshoot connectivity and infrastructure issues.
- Experience tracking and renewing software licenses/subscriptions and maintaining compliance/entitlement records.
- Strong analytical skills with Excel (pivot tables, lookups), reporting, and data hygiene practices.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management) and strong documentation habits.
- Strong customer service skills; ability to communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical users.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain a renewal calendar, and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
- Hands‑on troubleshooting experience with switches, firewalls, wireless access points, interpreting logs/alerts, and validating changes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MBA or related discipline.
- Experience with network management/monitoring and configuration tools (LogicMonitor, Cisco DNA Center, Aruba Central) and/or ITSM platforms.
- Experience supporting VPN, NAC, DNS/DHCP, and wireless authentication (RADIUS/802.1X).
- Knowledge of IT asset management (ITAM) and software asset management (SAM).
- Experience building Power BI dashboards and using data to drive asset lifecycle, compliance, and cost optimization.
- Vendor management experience: support cases, renewals, contract terms, true‑ups, audits.
- Familiarity with change management, risk management, and operational best practices (ITIL, CAB, incident/problem management).
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft certifications, ITIL Foundation.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field and/or equivalent work experience.
Location & Compensation
Lake Buena Vista, FL, USA (alternate in CA). Salary range: $135,200–$181,200 (FL) or $141,900–$190,300 (CA) per year. Additional benefits include bonus, long‑term incentive units, medical, financial, and other benefits.
