Job summary

GCI Communication Corp in Anchorage, Alaska seeks a Network Support Technician Lead to provide initial exceptional network technical support to customers via calls, email, and chat. Lead and mentor junior techs, monitor alerts, and coordinate maintenance that may impact services.

The role requires five years of combined technical customer service experience, strong communication, and the ability to triage complex issues. Must reside within 50 miles of Anchorage; a $2,500 hiring bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of combined experience in technical customer service, helpdesk, LAN/WAN networking, or telecommunications.
• Must reside within 50 miles of Anchorage, Alaska.
• Experience mentoring junior technicians in a lead role.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier I–III technical support via calls, email, chat, and escalation when needed.
• Monitor network alerts and coordinate maintenance or installations affecting services.
• Document procedures, maintain accurate records, and follow company policies.
• Mentor and lead junior technicians and coordinate event management.
