Job summary
HCLTech is seeking a Senior Network Support Engineer (L3) to act as a technical expert in complex troubleshooting, documentation, and infrastructure optimization within our Irvine, CA operations. You will lead cross-functional incident resolution, document SOPs, and collaborate with vendors on fixes and upgrades.
The role emphasizes data center and WAN/LAN management, security feature deployment, and mentoring junior staff.
Qualifications
- CCNP/CCIE with lab is a must.
- Expertise in routing, switching and convergence technologies (QOS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, STP, VRRP).
- Hands-on with Nexus 7k/9k and Cisco 6500 series hardware.
- Proficient with Arista/Nexus/Brocade switches and load balancers (Riverbed, Netscaler).
- Strong skills in network monitoring (SolarWinds, NetFlow) and documentation (Visio).
Responsibilities
- Lead troubleshooting for complex network issues escalated from L1/L2.
- Create and maintain detailed SOPs, processes and RCA documents.
- Collaborate with vendors for fixes, firmware upgrades and enhancements.
- Drive incident bridge calls for rapid recovery and SLA adherence.
- Monitor performance, capacity planning and tuning.
- Identify gaps and recommend strategic improvements.
- Support data center, WAN/LAN, and large-scale network design/maintenance.
- Enforce change management and coordinate config updates.
- Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge.
