Job summary

Bowhead seeks a Senior Network Specialist to support HPCMP IT services in San Diego, focusing on systems engineering, software design, and integration for major IT systems. Role includes QA, testing, and database considerations with potential embedded software work. Must have 4+ years of relevant experience and strong communication skills.

Candidate will operate in a security-conscious environment with Top Secret clearance requirements; US Citizenship is required for clearance.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in a related field required or may be substituted with equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of relevant technical experience required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and external contacts.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment; able to work solo or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of systems engineering tasks broadly related to major systems design, integration, and implementation including personnel, hardware, software, budgetary, and support facilities.
• Provides quality assurance review and evaluation of new and existing software products.
• Analyzes design, development, and integration of hardware, software, man-machine interfaces and system-level requirements for an integrated IT solution.
• Develops integrated system test requirements, strategies, devices and systems; directs system-level testing.
• Develops, creates, and modifies general computer applications software or specialized utility programs.
• Analyzes user needs and develops software solutions.
• Designs software or customizes software for client use to optimize operational efficiency.
• Analyzes and designs databases within an application area, or coordinates database development as part of a team.
• Supervises computer programmers as needed.
• Researches, designs, develops, and tests operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for various domains.
• Sets operational specifications and analyzes software requirements.
• May design embedded systems software.
• Applies principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
