Job summary

Ad Hoc LLC is seeking a Senior Network/Security Engineer to design, implement, and support secure network and proxy architectures for federal civilian projects. You will work with Palo Alto, PAN-OS, SIEM, and DLP to enforce security policies and compliance across scalable environments.

Qualifications

• Experience with Palo Alto, panorama OS (PAN-OS), Firewalls, SIEM, Security Configuration Management (SCM), migration, security and compliance, RBAC and access models, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Strata Cloud Manager.
• Operate and engineer enterprise web proxy, deliver reliable policy changes, and diagnose issues down to packet level.

Responsibilities

• Configure Network ACLs, firewalls, and security groups to enforce policy and isolate sensitive workloads.
• Design secure network infrastructure enforcing Zero Trust principles for the DXP.
• Ensure 100% compliance with IRS/NIST boundary protection standards.
• Proxy Engineering: Forward/reverse proxy modes; PAC/WPAD design and distribution; SSL/TLS inspection and related considerations.
• Layer 3 & Internet Fundamentals: CIDR, NAT, routing, DNS, BGP/OSPF basics.
• Ports & Protocols: TCP/UDP behavior, TLS handshake, SNI, middlebox interactions.
• PCRE: write/review complex patterns with performance in mind.
• Troubleshooting: Packet capture, analytics, and log correlation at scale.
