Amentum seeks a Network Security Architect Lead, Principal to shape the Cyber, Security, & Intel landscape at Fort Meade, MD. You’ll lead a high-visibility team delivering secure network architectures and RMF-compliant designs across DISA programs.

You will drive zero-trust concepts, governance, and secure integration of next‑generation systems, with a focus on leadership, collaboration, and rapid delivery in a defense environment.

Formación

• Fifteen (15) years of experience in network engineering, security architecture, or systems integration with a focus on enterprise networks.
• Seven (7) years as a senior network security engineer, including at least three (3) years as principal architect or technical lead overseeing security engineering teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• Extensive Cisco routing and switching experience across enterprise and data center enclaves.
• Hands-on Palo Alto NGFW engineering, including Panorama, App-ID and threat prevention.
• Experience navigating RMF and meeting NIST SP 800-53 controls and DISA STIGs for ATO.
• Active DoD 8570 IAM Level III or IAT III certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM).
• Ability to produce HLD/LLD diagrams and BOMs.
• Strong communication and leadership to defend designs before DISA boards.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as the principal technical authority for secure design and evolution of the enterprise IT network.
• Architect and engineer high-performance, resilient transport solutions across multi-site environments.
• Design and govern perimeter defenses with Palo Alto NGFWs and advanced threat prevention.
• Lead RMF A&A processes to ensure designs meet STIGs and secure ATO.
• Define standards and blueprints for secure network integration and cross-domain solutions.
• Mentor the network security engineering team and set priorities.
• Translate requirements into detailed network designs and security diagrams.
• Organize architecture reviews and security briefings with leadership.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineers, Cloud Architects, and PMs on secure interfaces.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and threat modeling to identify mitigations.
