Job summary

Meta in Menlo Park, CA is seeking a software engineer to join our network infrastructure teams. You will help build scalable distributed systems, develop routing software, and ship production-grade solutions for the Meta data network.

You will work on in-house routing protocol implementations, automate test suites, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support capacity planning and architecture changes in a fast-paced, cutting-edge environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or equivalent.
• 5+ years of software development in networking or distributed systems.
• 3+ years with network devices and routing protocols.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python or Shell scripting.
• Experience with developing and automating test suites for production networking software.
• Experience implementing routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, Open/R).
• Experience debugging large codebases and working with CI/CD.
• Experience with large-scale network design and operations.
• Experience operating Tier-0 services.
• Experience automating test suites for CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Scale, harden, and evolve in-house routing protocol implementations to meet next-generation data center and AI network needs.
• Develop software to solve routing problems for the Meta production network.
• Work hands-on with networking devices and protocols.
• Participate in production operations of Tier-0 routing services.
• Integrate with adjacent systems and evaluate third-party solutions.
• Partner with Network Engineering and Production Engineering to automate processes and build software infrastructure for network monitoring and capacity planning.
