Job summary

Fortinet is seeking a QA Developer in Santa Clara, CA with 8+ years in network product QA testing. The role focuses on designing comprehensive test plans, manual and automated testing of networking features, and building scalable test environments to ensure performance and reliability.

You will work with developers and QA teams to reproduce issues, implement automation, and contribute to release readiness. Strong scripting, Linux, and cloud experience are required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of network product QA testing required.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL, OSPF, and BGP.
• Experience with Python, Shell scripting, and Robot Framework.
• Proficiency with Linux/Unix.
• Experience with traffic generation/ benchmarking tools.
• Experience with API testing and automated test scripts.
• Knowledge of QA methodologies, testing types, and best practices.
• Experience with private cloud (VMware ESXi, KVM) and public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform is a plus.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases across the product lifecycle.
• Perform manual and automated testing for networking and load balancing features.
• Build and maintain realistic test environments simulating diverse devices and network conditions.
• Develop scalable network simulation frameworks for performance testing.
• Root cause analysis and actionable insights to improve performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with developers and QA to identify, reproduce, and resolve issues.
• Integrate new tools and best practices to enhance testing efficiency.
• Identify and document product risks and contribute to release readiness decisions.
• Work with Development and TAC engineers to reproduce customer-reported issues.
• Learn quickly and work efficiently to identify defects and risks for development testing and release readiness.
