Job summary

GDH is seeking an experienced network patching architect to define standards, design automation, and lead modernization of patching across LAN, WAN, security, and cloud environments. The role emphasizes collaboration with security, operations, and project teams to ensure timely, compliant updates.

You will establish baselines, golden images, and rollback procedures while evaluating tooling and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of enterprise network engineering or architecture experience.
• Experience planning firmware and software upgrades on Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks, F5, or similar platforms.
• Working knowledge of vulnerability management processes and tooling.
• Experience with network automation using Python, Ansible, NetBox, NetBrain, or similar technologies.
• Ability to collaborate with architects, engineers, PMs, and stakeholders; document work clearly.
• Relevant education, training, certifications, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical patching strategy and standards for diverse network platforms.
• Establish software version baselines, golden images, validation, and rollback procedures.
• Design automation and tooling for inventory management, vulnerability assessment, compliance, and scheduled updates.
• Assess risks and prioritize patching activities based on vulnerability severity, exposure, and business importance.
• Partner with security, operations, and project teams to implement and improve patching processes.
• Document standards, runbooks, and metrics; provide training to operational teams.
• Evaluate and select tools and technologies for automation, vulnerability management, and inventory.
• Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies related to network patching.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patch management efficiency and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
