Role Overview:
- We are looking for a Network Engineer – Cisco Specialist (100% Remote with light travel as needed) to join a large national healthcare provider to implement and maintain cutting edge networks within their hospitals and clinics. Tremendous opportunity to build state of the art networks and partner closely with vendors to evaluate and introduce new technologies and hardware.

Some of the major initiatives we are working on are SD-WAN, SD-Access, and building automation into every aspect of our work. This is a long term contract opportunity with the potential conversion to FTE status. Role is primarily remote with some travel to client sites if/when required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead Cisco network design and implementations, specifically using Cisco Catalyst platforms (migrating from Cisco Nexus).
- Support and optimize enterprise-class Cisco environments, including:
- Cisco ASR 1000 and ISR 4000 routers
- Catalyst 9800 Wireless Controllers
- Cisco Catalyst 9000 series switches
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues with a focus on high uptime and reliability.
- Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including designs, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and clients to implement network upgrades and ensure compliance with healthcare industry standards.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance network efficiency and security.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience with Cisco networking technologies in a large enterprise or healthcare or large campus environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst 9000 series switches.
- Experience with Cisco Catalyst platforms (migrating from Cisco Nexus).
- Deep knowledge of routing and switching protocols and best practices.
- Solid understanding of wireless networking, including experience with Cisco Catalyst 9800 Wireless Controllers.
- Demonstrated expertise in network design and architecture.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex network issues quickly and effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CCIE) strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with network automation and scripting is a plus (knowledge (i.e. VBA, Ansible, Python, Google App Script).
- Experience working in a healthcare IT environment.
