Job summary

General Dynamics - IT is seeking a Senior Network Engineer (Voice) to deliver robust data center networks for DoD stakeholders. You will lead engineering tasks, design, implement, and optimize voice and data networking, ensuring reliability and security.

This role requires high-level experience, TS/SCI clearance, and hands-on leadership with cross-functional teams on DoW projects.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience or a combination of education and experience.
• DOD 8570 IAT level II required.
• Experience with data center networks and voice networking.
• Ability to maintain security posture and compliance with DoW requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead network engineering team on DoW projects and initiatives.
• Design, implement, and optimize data center networks including voice components.
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to acquire hardware/software.
• Ensure network security, backups, and recovery capabilities are in place.
• Provide practical solutions to complex networking challenges and document configurations.

The engineer will work daily alongside engineering staff at the site to become thoroughly familiar with the unique processes and requirements related to DoW-specific configurations and challenges. This role will also serve as a team lead.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Education

• Associates Degree or equivalent

Required Experience

• 8+ years of related experience or a combination of education and experience
• DOD 8570 IAT level II required

Required Technical Skills

• Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
• Performs maintenance and upgrades of networks, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks
• Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintaining system backup and recovery capabilities
• Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software, as well as subcontractor services as needed
• Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks
• Designs and builds hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks
• Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance network capabilities
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
