Job summary

Akima Systems Engineering (ASE) in Honolulu, HI seeks a Senior Cisco Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot a large DoD network infrastructure across multiple enclaves with varying security classifications.

You will lead projects, ensure devices and apps are patched and secure, work with Cisco IOS, routers, switches, ISE, Firepower, ACI, and collaborate with SPLUNK, ACAS, VMware NSX, and ServiceNow; after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

Active TS/SCI clearance.
DoD 8140.03-M Intermediate Proficiency.
CCNP or equivalent certification; one of CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP as a minimum.
5 years DoD network engineering or 8 years total experience.
Experience managing Cisco routers/switches and firewalls (Firepower).
Experience with Cisco ACI, ISE, Palo Alto, SPLUNK, ACAS, NSX, and VMware.
Proficient in Microsoft Visio and Office tools; able to lift 40 pounds; willing to after-hours/weekend work.

Responsibilities

Maintain, install, update, and secure Cisco networks across multiple enclaves.
Lead projects with minimal oversight; patch devices and monitor security posture using ACAS and SPLUNK; collaborate with ServiceNow.
Create and maintain network diagrams and SOPs; deliver monthly status reports to COR/TA.
Occasional after-hours/weekend support for outages and security operations.
