Job description

e&e is seeking an IT Team Lead for an onsite contract opportunity in Cranberry, PA!

We are seeking a hands-on IT Team Lead with a strong networking background to provide technical leadership while remaining actively involved in network engineering, implementation, and troubleshooting. This role is ideal for an experienced Network Engineer or infrastructure professional who has experience mentoring others, leading technical projects, or coordinating team activities and is ready to expand their leadership responsibilities.

The successful candidate will combine strong network architecture and design skills with a collaborative leadership style. This is not a strategy-only management position—the IT Team Lead will be expected to evaluate technical options, recommend solutions, explain the rationale behind those recommendations, and personally participate in implementation and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and day-to-day direction to networking and infrastructure team members.
  • Mentor team members, provide technical guidance, and help coordinate assignments and priorities.
  • Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot scalable, secure, and reliable network solutions.
  • Remain hands-on with network implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, and operational support.
  • Support LAN/WAN, wireless networking, firewalls, VPNs, and related network technologies.
  • Evaluate existing network architecture and identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Assess multiple technical approaches and clearly communicate the benefits, limitations, and tradeoffs of each solution.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex network incidents and drive technical issues through resolution.
  • Participate in network architecture, capacity planning, upgrades, and infrastructure improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and promote network standards, processes, documentation, and best practices.
  • Support network monitoring, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, platform, application, and other technology teams.
  • Lead or coordinate technical projects involving networking and infrastructure technologies.
  • Communicate technical concepts and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Balance leadership responsibilities with direct hands-on technical contributions.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of strong hands-on experience in networking, network engineering, network administration, infrastructure, or a related technical area.
  • At least 6 months of demonstrated leadership or lead-level experience, which may include mentoring, technical leadership, project leadership, coordinating engineers, or formal supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of network architecture, design, and implementation.
  • Hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting LAN/WAN environments.
  • Experience with wireless networking, firewalls, VPNs, routing, switching, and related networking technologies.
  • Ability to develop network designs and personally participate in their implementation.
  • Strong understanding of network troubleshooting methodologies and problem resolution.
  • Ability to evaluate network architecture, compare technical alternatives, and clearly explain why a particular solution is recommended.
  • Understanding of software-defined networking concepts.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance hands-on technical execution with team leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Friendly, collaborative, approachable, and team-oriented working style.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to guide and mentor other technical professionals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading or mentoring network or infrastructure professionals.
  • Experience within a manufacturing or enterprise technology environment.
  • Exposure to cloud or hybrid-cloud networking environments.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and automation tools.
  • Relevant networking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
