Job summary

Strata Clean Energy in Durham, NC is seeking a Network Engineer to deploy and manage our enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. You will monitor performance, enforce security, and document configurations to ensure reliability across platforms from Cisco, Palo Alto, and Fortinet.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of LAN/WAN experience, strong knowledge of routing protocols, and comfort collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of LAN/WAN experience in a complex enterprise environment.
• Strong knowledge of network security, firewalls and IDS/IPS.
• Experience with routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, MPLS).
• Familiarity with cabling (Cat5/6, fiber) and VLANs.
• Proficient in network monitoring and management tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless APs).
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance and reliability.
• Implement and maintain network security measures against unauthorized access.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network solutions with business needs.
• Maintain documentation for configurations and procedures to ensure consistency.
• Oversee integration across platforms (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet) and generate reports.
• Provide technical support for internal and external customers, including off-hours as needed.
• Engage with vendors to ensure optimal network performance and DR planning.
