Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks a Technical Lead for Network Strategy to design, deploy, and sustain our LAN, WAN, data-center, and cloud networks. You will own the full stack—from routers and switches to VPNs—ensuring high availability, security, and scalability for our silicon fabrication and research workloads.

You will lead cross‑functional operations teams, oversee multi‑year capacity budgets, and craft a roadmap that aligns network capabilities with business objectives.

Position Summary

As the Technical Lead on our Network Strategy team you will be the driving force behind the design, deployment, and ongoing sustainment of our semiconductor‑centric LAN, WAN, datacenter, and cloud networking fabric. You will own every layer of the network stack—from routers, firewalls, and switches to VPN appliances, cabling, and all associated hardware—ensuring that each element delivers the high‑availability, security, and scalability required to support our silicon‑fabrication and research workloads.

Your role will also encompass providing technical leadership to the operations team, rigorously reviewing design, development, and implementation proposals to keep day‑to‑day activities in sync with our long‑term strategy. You will be accountable for constructing multi‑year and annual capacity budgets, balancing performance, cost, and risk across all platforms. By continuously evaluating emerging networking technologies, you will craft a forward‑looking roadmap that aligns evolving capabilities with business objectives, ensuring the organization remains positioned for next‑generation innovation.

Skills And Qualifications
Here’s what you’ll need:
  • BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering; MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred.
  • Certification or advanced expertise in Cisco, Palo Alto, Arista, F5 / A10, and other networking technologies.
  • 15+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise and data‑center networking, with deep expertise in LAN/WAN, cloud, and semiconductor‑centric environments.
  • In‑depth knowledge of networking protocols and concepts such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, BGP, VPC, HSRP, VRRP, mLACP, MLag, VRF, PBR, IPv4 Subnetting, VSS, IGMP, PIM, Anycast-RP, MSDP, 802.1x, EAP-TLS, PEAP-MSCHAPv2, TACACS+, SYSLOG, QoS, Cisco IOS and NX-OS, EVPN, Vxlan.
  • 5+ years of leading cross‑functional teams, steering large‑scale networking projects from concept through production.
  • Strong financial acumen to build and manage multi‑year capacity budgets, demonstrating the ability to balance performance, cost, and risk.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, able to translate technical details into actionable business insights.

The current base salary range for this role is between $70,480 - $179,090. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
