Job description

Aptient is looking for an individual to join our small team in the role of Senior Network Engineer. You will be responsible for engineering, deploying, maintaining, and supporting networks and security infrastructure for clients in several verticals. You will possess exceptional communication skills, be a self-starter, have a fantastic work ethic, be incredibly well organized, work very well without supervision, and ensure projects and tasks are completed on time and meet or exceed customer expectations. You must also be a great culture fit within our organization.

Our clients include Internet and network service providers, critical-infrastructure providers, data centers, content-delivery networks, gaming companies, voice-services providers, hardware and integration providers, and healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, deploy, operate and maintain networks and security infrastructure
• Plan projects with clients
• Support other internal team members
• Assist with resolving support tickets regarding your assigned projects
• Occasionally work outside normal business hours to resolve issues and outages, or to meet deadlines
• Some travel will be required (not more than 12 weeks a year)

Requirements

• Strong Juniper MX, ACX, PTX, QFX, EX and SRX experience
• Be a strong self-starter and work efficiently
• Be able to work effectively under little or no supervision
• Be an excellent communicator, both with colleagues and clients

Not Required, But Nice to Have

• Arista and Cisco IOS-XR experience
• Cisco ASA, Fortigate, Checkpoint, Sonicwall and Meraki experience
• DWDM experience
• FreeBSD experience
• AWS experience
• Flexible time management
