Job summary

SAIC seeks an onsite Network Engineer at Kirtland AFB, NM to support Space Systems Command. The role involves monitoring and supporting network infrastructure (Cisco, Palo Alto, SolarWinds, ISE) and private cloud environments, with Linux/Unix administration and cybersecurity collaboration.

You will analyze network performance, configure devices, and troubleshoot in a fast-paced, mission-critical setting, collaborating with experienced engineers and government sponsors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or technology related discipline and 5+ years of relevant experience; a Master’s degree with 3+ years can substitute for experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with SCI eligibility; must be able to obtain TS/SCI.
• DoD 8570 baseline certification required.
• Strong background in Microsoft Office tools and Visio.

Responsibilities

• Analyze network characteristics such as traffic, connect time, speeds, packet sizes and throughput.
• Assist more senior network engineers with installation, removal and modifications to network components.
• Configure, deploy, upgrade, and troubleshoot multivendor switches, routers, firewalls, and peripheral equipment in lab environments.
• Operate or administer Linux and Unix systems.
• Provide occasional after-hours operational support for network issues.
• Apply enterprise monitoring tools (SolarWinds, WireShark, iPerf) to analyze activity and problems.
• Develop and maintain network topologies, diagrams and IP tracking.
