Job summary

KORE1 is hiring a Network Engineer for an onsite, direct-hire role in Oxnard, CA. You will support and maintain municipal network infrastructure, ensuring performance, reliability, and security across routers, switches, wireless and core components.

The role emphasizes documentation, design, deployment, and hands-on configuration of Cisco and Fortinet devices. CCNA/CCNP or similar certs are preferred; strong communication and project leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in networking/IT.
• 5+ years of hands-on enterprise network engineering experience.
• Industry certs such as CCNA/CCNP/CompTIA Network+ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Document, design, deploy and run a complex municipal network.
• Provide leadership, training, and runbooks; manage project timelines.
• Operate within change management structures and escalate as needed.
• Act as SME for Layer 2/7 network design and guidance.
• Manage and optimize Cisco environment; modernize practices.
• Deploy security technologies: ACLs, AAA, VPNs, 802.1X, IDS/IPS.
