Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in San Diego, CA is seeking a Network Engineer to support enterprise-wide digital transformation. You will install, configure, and maintain network systems, perform complex problem solving, and work in an Agile environment with multi-vendor equipment.

Qualifications include a B.S. in science/engineering with 2+ years of experience (or a Master’s with 0+), strong OSPF/IS-IS/BGP knowledge, Linux (RHEL), and Cisco/Junos CLI proficiency; U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in science, engineering, or related discipline; 2+ years of experience or Masters with no experience.
• Experience configuring and operating OSPF in multi-area deployments and inter-area route propagation.
• Working knowledge of IS-IS and NET addressing.
• Working knowledge of BGP (iBGP/eBGP) and route policies.
• Ability to operate Cisco IOS and Junos CLI under time constraints.
• Experience with Linux system administration (RHEL) and packet capture.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform as a consultant in highly specialized information technologies and methodologies.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software to support mission systems.
• Recommend and implement system enhancements for performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex problems across Agile, Networking, and Software environments.
• Travel for system installations, test support, and customer demonstrations.
