Job summary

Openkrill is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead design, deployment, and support of datacentre networks across the US. You will work with Cisco, Juniper, and NGFW technologies, driving performance and high availability for multi-site environments operated by Abacus datacenters.

You will mentor colleagues, own complex client engagements, and coordinate with cloud networks (Azure/AWS) to ensure secure, scalable connectivity and timely resolution of incidents.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Networking experience
• CCNP, JNCIP or equivalent certification preferred
• Bachelor's degree a plus
• MSP experience a plus
• Flexibility for after hours and weekend work
• Ability to work on call rotation
• Ability to work 8/8.30am - 5/5.30pm shift.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex issues quickly, proactively identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions.
• Support and maintain network backbone infrastructure involving multiple datacenters and geographic regions based on dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and various mediums (DIA, PTP, VPN, multi-gig connectivity, cross-connects)
• Work independently to lead medium sized client engagements involving equipment deployment, network design, or refresh tasks.
• Provide escalation support for incidents involving client offices, Abacus datacenters, public cloud networks (Azure and AWS), and remote access (VPN, Citrix, etc.).
• Support and maintain NGFW firewall configurations with the ability to troubleshoot datacenter and client environments.
• Work directly with high profile clients to provide solutions that meet their needs, and account for critical dependencies to ensure seamless and effective resolution to problems.
• Maintain a high level of communication and collaboration with internal Abacus teams to provide solutions and escalation support.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Abacus and client infrastructure, processes, and procedures.
• Stay abreast of the latest technological trends and recommend solutions to improve performance, security, and efficiency.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to other team members to develop their skills.
