Job summary

Nordstrom is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, deploy, and manage enterprise network infrastructure with Juniper routing/switching, Versa SD-WAN, and Juniper Mist wireless. You will champion observability via New Relic and drive automation using Python, Ansible, and Terraform.

You will lead multi-vendor environments, mentor peers, and collaborate with security, systems, and applications teams to deliver scalable network solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
• Deep Juniper routing and switching expertise (EX/QFX/MX/SRX).
• Experience designing and operating Versa SD-WAN in production environments.
• Hands-on Juniper Mist wireless platform including RF design and Mist AI.
• Proven ability to build and manage network observability in New Relic (dashboards, NRQL, alerts).
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python) and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Nornir, NAPALM).
• Familiarity with core networking protocols: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, 802.1Q, QoS, IPSEC, 802.11 standards.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and maintain Juniper EX/QFX switching and MX/SRX routing at scale.
• Own Versa SD-WAN design, deployment and day-2 operations.
• Lead enterprise Wi‑Fi deployments using Juniper Mist and integrate with identity/NAC.
• Design observability dashboards and alerting in New Relic; instrument devices for telemetry.
• Develop automation tooling with Python, Ansible, Terraform; maintain IaC repositories and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with security, systems, and applications teams; document designs and runbooks.
